Industry insiders said that China's cold chain logistics industry is still in the growth period, and there is a certain gap between cold chain logistics facilities and technology and that there is still a large space for development.

Data show that the market scale of China's cold chain logistics industry has been growing year by year from 150 billion yuan in 2014 to 383.2 billion yuan in 2020, with a year-on-year growth of 13%, and is still growing. It is predicted that with people's attention to food quality and the increasing improvement of living standards, the cold chain market demand will further expand. By 2025, China's cold chain logistics market will exceed 550 billion yuan.

"Opinions" pointed out that it is necessary to guide cold chain transportation enterprises to strengthen alliance cooperation with fruit and vegetable, aquatic products, meat and other production and processing enterprises, and actively develop new models such as highway cold chain special lines, joint distribution in multi-temperature areas, "fresh e-commerce + cold chain house distribution", "central kitchen + cold chain distribution of food materials", "aquatic products deep processing + cold chain transportation".

With the increase of policy support, cold chain logistics industry began to enter the golden development period. However, there are still weak links in the cold chain and their potential needs to be tapped. In order to speed up the improvement of weak areas, we must first solve prominent problems such as "the first kilometer" and "the last kilometer".
